After slaving for several hour yesterday morning, I was so tired and was fast asleep by 7:30PM last night. But it was all so worth it! Yesterday was my 3rd year to celebrate Thanksgiving and we had family come over for a long and heavy Thanksgiving lunch. We cooked Turkey, Pansit, Lumpia, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet yam and a store-bought pumpkin pie. 🙂 I am not much of a baker yet and not as talented in that arena like my sister-in-law who made a fabulous strawberry cake – made from scratch no less!
I normally would take a lot of pictures, but was only able to take a couple of not so decent ones. I was too busy spending time, chatting and just hanging out with family.
Thanksgiving here is equivalent to Pasko (Christmas) and Noche Buena (Filipino Christmas Eve Feast) in my birth country. And it is most importantly, it is mostly about Family. I sure miss my own family back in The Philippines. But, so thankful that Facetime and Viber makes it so convenient for me to talk with them whenever and wherever…
Which brings me to what Thanksgiving is all about… I sure am grateful for such a wonderful year. This year, I got married to the love of my life, I was able to vacation with my family, officially became a United States immigrant, happily started in the home health industry in Physical Therapy and now on the heels of moving to our new house.
Life is Good and I have so much to be Grateful for.
It is interesting and wonderful that my life has taken a 360 degree turn from where I am back in the day. I have to say that I am even thankful for having gone through a turbulent marriage – otherwise I will not have made the decision to take the NPTE, move here and find my home in Tony. ❤️
I have learned that where we are where we are supposed to be.
Just be patient. 🙂
