After working several years here in the United States, I learned one thing. The most expensive commodity is intangible. Most people think the most important commodity that money can buy is an expensive Italian bag, a luxury watch, a brand new European car, vacationing to another country or eating at a five star Michelin restuarant.
For me, I have learned that it is none of those things.
Money, bags or watches can get lost – but it can always be earned back – if you work hard enough for it. But, the one thing that I simply, simply am doing my best to have and invest on is TIME.
When Time goes by, it is just simply GONE.
As I have been not as active that I usually am this past couple of weeks on social media. I have been busy enjoying time with my family at home and mostly time for myself too.
More often than not, I am guilty of trying to do everything…Shuttling our son to and from school, seeing too many patients one after the other in one day, making sure the dog gets his daily walks, prepping meals for everyone and making sure the house is spick and span- except taking time for myself. So, I am making a conscious effort to slow down and simply enjoy the time that is happening in the moment and stop worrying about what happens tomorrow.
The house will be clean, we will have food and the laundry can be done on the weekends anyway. This post is a note to myself – that having TIME is the best thing that you can give yourself.
